John was born in Tanzania, brought up in Oldham, and became a Christian in 1975 whilst travelling the world training as a navigator on super-tankers. He is married to Mandy and has five children, Beth, Josh, Dan, Ben, & Naomi.

John started his ministry in schools and youth outreach in Greater Manchester and has successfully led churches in the UK countryside, which have been blessed with growth. As Senior Minister at Gorsley Chapel on the borders of Herefordshire and Gloucestershire, he has been involved in developing and gathering church leaders in the Midlands and Southwest, and has spoken at Church Leadership conferences in both the USA and Europe, as well as seeing Gorsley’s Annual Festival impact thousands of lives.

He has been described as a, ‘straight talking, warm, humorous, and passionate communicator of The Good News, who is able to help people discover a new spiritual dynamic to their lives.’  His passion has always been to make Christianity and the teachings of Jesus Christ relevant to every day life.

 
Re-Shaping Lives: Through dinners, breakfasts, guest services, writing and broadcasts and in his own inimitable style John seeks to help people who are saying ‘No’ to Christianity discover that they can say ‘Yes’

Refocusing Local Churches: Helping  churches and their Leaderships Team to discover how they can be fit for purpose.  These seminars and workshops have been very practical and have usually been built  around Leadership Advance Days held at Gorsley. John has also taken these days to help church leaderships in the UK, Europe, and United States.

Re-Building Communities: John believes that Christianity can make the difference in our lives not just on a Sunday. John uses his ability to unlock the Bibles message to help people discover how they can become a better husband, wife, parent, employee or employer, and how they can make a difference in that part of the world God has placed them. He has done this successfully in the contexts of Ministry Weeks, Seminars, Celebrations and special occasions.
